STRAIGHT AHEAD NETWORK INC.
"DIRECTING THE WAY TO RECOVERY"
"Mission Statement: Assistance in establishing and maintaining a long term recovery plan may include but is not limited to, the following: structured 12 step program(s), spiritual direction, accountability assistance, proactive spousal/family involvement, marriage enrichment, job advocacy, volunteer/community service and transitional housing opportunities.
We are a NEW Christian non-profit corporation, whose goal is to assist and coordinate a path of recovery for individuals, couples and families. Based in Chicago's western suburbs, we provide guidance by assisting in planning recovery strategies and referring people to applicable ministries or groups.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (New International Version)

Ideology:
Regardless of the issue being addressed, recovery can not begin until the individual makes a commitment and demonstrates a true desire to make a behavioral change. It must be understood by ALL involved that recovery requires a total lifestyle transformation. A successful plan will need to be organized, balanced and addressed on different levels with a dedicated support base. It is vital, family and friends who understand the circumstances involved with recovery will place a priority on the individual's well being.

While we put sobriety of the individual first, we are well aware of the wreckage that alcohol and drugs can leave behind. Subsequently, we move to head off divorce and work to preserve the family unit. Once the addiction/abuse has been confronted, we provide those involved an opportunity to participate in an achievable recovery program.
Our network support will work
to resolve many individual issues that can arise during recovery. Consider the recovery process as a table needing support to stand. It would make sense to have as many legs as possible. The Straight Ahead Network can help put the those legs under a strong and healthy recovery, one capable of withstanding trying times. Imagine having a pile of table legs to choose from. They might include 12-step groups and a sponsor; a spouse, family, friends and an accountability partner; or a pastor, church and a church support group. Finally, there are any number of couples, family, young adult and teen groups which all provide viable means of support.
Although numerous recovery coaches may be involved, it is ultimately through God's grace that sobriety is sustained, marriages are preserved and families rebuilt.
